Monique Bryan, Transportation Director of Marshall Public Schools in Marshall, Michigan, is not afraid to try new things and says, “we are willing to think outside the box…Sometimes we have to go back to square one and start over but if that’s the best then that’s what we do.” Bryan sees her team as all having the same goal and that supporting each other is how to achieve that goal. “We are there for each other, we help each other, and we have fun.” Bryan’s team is responsible for getting 1200 students to school daily and advises leaders to “be honest, respectful, and always communicate openly to keep your team in the loop.” Bryan sees herself as an active member of her team and says “Be involved. Never ask someone in your department to do something you wouldn’t do.”
