The passion for her work that Donna Hackett of Pembroke CSD, located in Corfu, New York,  has is clear. When asked to describe her team, she says “We are the strongest team in my 33 years in this department.” Hackett relies not only on her internal team members but explains her team is also made  up of external members, such as law enforcement and emergency personnel. “You must have continuous commitment and connection with them all.”  As the leader in a district transporting 800 students daily, and interacting with various members of the community regularly, Hackett says “While keeping my HEART in all I do, I don’t take it to HEART when I run into grumpy or harsh people…Smile, Be available, and listen and concur with your people.”
