Garland ISD Transportation Director Anna Banner describes her team as “motivational” and actively works to cultivate a winning culture. Part of her job, Banner says, is “making the team feel appreciated and acknowledging the positive things they do, weekly activities, Hero of the Day, staff awards, etc.” Garland ISD, located in Garland, Texas, transports 13,000 students a day. The transportation department has a diverse team that Banner empowers to make decisions and “have ownership in what is happening.” “Everyone is different,” she says “Treat everyone equal. Include everyone.”
